Walmart Announces Plan To Spend $50 Billion on Products Made in America
January 15, 2013
Walmart, one of the Geno Auriemma - UConn Leadership Conference Presenting Sponsors, has announced that they will spend $50 billion dollars over the next ten years on new products - all made here in the U.S. This new commitment could create as many as 170,000 jobs in the United States.

Walmart CEO, Bill Simon, also stated that starting on Memorial Day, Walmart would guarantee a job to any veteran who was honorably discharged within the past year. While the company acknowledges that not every veteran will want to work in retail, everyone that does will be given a job. They predict that they will hire more than 100,000 veterans over the next five years.

The Geno-Auriemma UConn Leadership Conference is excited to have Mr. Simon as a keynote speaker to discuss the topic of Leading in a Time of Crises. He will address the critical role that leadership plays in ensuring organizations are ready for whatever comes next.
